Cash Assistance for Displaced Persons in Ukraine

According to Novyny.live: The UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) has reopened registration for a cash assistance program in the city of Dnipro, starting in February 2026. This initiative is designed to support internally displaced persons (IDPs) who relocated within the last six months, as well as refugees who have returned to Ukraine. The ongoing conflict has created significant economic hardship for millions of displaced Ukrainians, making such targeted aid crucial.

The assistance is provided for a three-month period, with a payment of 10,800 Ukrainian hryvnias (UAH) per person. To qualify as a candidate for this aid, applicants must meet several conditions:

  • Applicants must not have received similar payments from other organizations in the preceding three months.
  • The per-person income within the family must be within 6,300 UAH.

Consultations and registration are being held at the following address: 14 Yuliusha Slovatskoho Street, Dnipro. The office is open from 09:30 to 16:00. Registration is conducted on a walk-in, first-come, first-served basis. Applicants must prepare the following documents: a tax identification number, a passport, and a document confirming IDP status.

Priority Groups for Assistance

The program prioritizes the following vulnerable categories:

  • Single-parent families with young children,
  • Individuals over 55 years of age,
  • Families with a member who has a disability.

This program represents a vital step in supporting those facing difficult circumstances, providing essential financial aid to the most vulnerable segments of the population.

The situation for internally displaced persons in Ukraine remains challenging, as many face economic difficulties after being forced to relocate. The UN's cash assistance program aims to alleviate their situation by providing financial support during a critical adaptation period. It is crucial that such initiatives continue, as they play a key role in ensuring social stability and helping people rebuild lives disrupted by conflict.
