The United States Department of Defense stated that it does not plan to deploy the THAAD system on the territory of NATO allies in Europe due to the difference between the wars in Israel and Ukraine.
This was reported by the US Deputy Press Secretary Sabrina Singh.
She noted that the US continues to support the defensive needs of Israel and Ukraine.
Singh answered a question about the deployment of the THAAD system in Israel for protection against attacks from Iran but not doing so on the territory of NATO allies in Europe to protect Ukraine from Russia, noting that these are different situations.
"These are different wars, different regions, and the commitments to Israel and Ukraine are different," Singh said.
At the same time, US President Joe Biden confirmed his support for Ukraine.
