PSG prepares transfer of Zabarnyi: Safonov may move to Galatasaray.
PSG is almost agreed on the transfer of Zabarnyi
The Parisian football club 'PSG' is almost agreed on the transfer of Ukrainian defender Illia Zabarnyi from the English 'Bournemouth'. One of the conditions for the transfer is the departure of Russian goalkeeper Matviy Safonov.
According to the portal ParisTeam, 'PSG' has begun working on Safonov leaving the team.
Safonov must leave for Zabarnyi to arrive
According to sources, 'PSG' is offering 26-year-old Safonov a move to the Turkish 'Galatasaray', which needs a new goalkeeper. Safonov joined 'PSG' in June 2024 from 'Krasnodar' for 20 million euros, he has played 17 matches in the 2024/2025 season, but remained a backup behind the main goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma.
'Galatasaray' is considering Safonov as an option if they fail to sign Ederson from 'Manchester City'. It is worth noting that 'PSG' will pay 68 million euros for Zabarnyi, of which 17 million will go to Kyiv's 'Dynamo'.
This news indicates an active public movement in football transfers, where players from Ukraine and Russia may find new teams in other European countries. This could also affect future opportunities for Ukrainian football in international competitions.
