The Government of Ukraine plans to cancel the subsistence minimum and replace it with a special social benefit, said Minister of Labor and Social Policy Oksana Zholnovich. The amount of this benefit will be determined individually depending on the family composition. Such a decision will allow separating the subsistence minimum from fines and salaries. The new basic benefit will be provided in cases of disability or to assist poor people. This decision is seen as a positive step for the social system and the country's economy.
