The Security Service of Ukraine, together with the Office of the Prosecutor General, uncovered a corruption scheme involving military equipment for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Those suspected in this case have been charged with amounts exceeding 33 million hryvnias.
According to the investigation, a former director of the Ministry of Defense and the head of a private enterprise organized this scheme during the procurement of rifles for frontline units. The breach of contract conditions and the misappropriation of funds have totaled more than 33 million hryvnias.
All arrested suspects have been charged under two articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. An examination of the purchased equipment is ongoing, and the investigation aims to hold all involved parties accountable.
