In Ukraine, from November 1, the military training period has been increased.
From November 1, the training period in the training centers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has been increased to 45 days.
This was stated by the head of the Main Department of Doctrines and Training of the General Staff of the AFU, Major General Ihor Palahniuk.
According to him, training centers of all components of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have switched to a basic general military training program with a training duration of 1.5 months instead of 30 days, as it was before.
Palahniuk emphasized that this decision was approved by the commander-in-chief of the AFU, taking into account the current results of work, which continues on the basis of four key military training centers. He also clarified that the pilot project, developed by the Main Directorate of Doctrines and Training of the GS AFU (J7), involves about 500 recruits.
In addition, he said that the increase in training Time is being implemented within the framework of the "Preserving the Lives of Service Members" program, aimed at improving the preparation of Ukrainian defenders.
"The increase of basic general military training implies an increase in the duration of fire training programs, medical practice, and many additional introductory courses. Rapid changes are due to the practical request of military units performing combat tasks at the front," Palahniuk noted.
According to him, the new basic program has increased by only 78 hours. Among its key indicators, significant enhancement of fire training can be highlighted - it has been increased by 33 hours, and the number of training exercises previously conducted at 23 is now being worked out in 45 variations.
"Additional practice also concerns comprehensive tactical training, actions of personnel with UAVs and EW, military topography, war technology, combat experience measures, knowledge and skills of using collective weapons, etc.," added the major general.
Recall, Zelensky signed laws on extending general mobilization and martial law.
