In Ukraine, prices for sunflower oil, bread, and lard have increased: what has become more expensive the most.
In October 2024, significant changes occurred in the prices of basic food products in Ukrainian retail networks.
According to the Ministry of Finance portal, price monitoring in the largest retail chains such as Auchan, Novus, Metro, and MegaMarket showed a general trend towards an increase in the cost of basic products.
Sunflower oil, which is one of the key products of Ukrainian export and domestic consumption, has risen most noticeably. Refined oil "Oleyna" (850 ml) is now sold on average for 65.95 UAH.
The price range for oil in different networks is significant: from 59.80 UAH in Auchan to 69.89 UAH in Novus. "Shchedry Dar" oil of the same volume is offered cheaper - on average for 63.93 UAH. This is approximately an 8% increase compared to September's figures (60.62 UAH).
The prices of bakery products have also changed. Standard wheat sliced bread (650 g) costs on average 35.35 UAH, and "Tsar Khlib" (600 g) - 36.69 UAH. In September, the prices were at the level of 34.60 UAH and 33.81 UAH, respectively.
Special attention should be paid to the situation with lard - a traditional Ukrainian product. The prices for homemade lard are 234 UAH per kilogram. However, it is worth noting that the difference between stores reaches almost 90 UAH: from 189 UAH in MegaMarket to 279 UAH in Novus. Salted lard is generally sold for 242.84 UAH per kilogram.
Let us remind you that supermarkets have also changed prices for carp, herring, and mackerel.
