The 'Leaking' Positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Kharkiv Oblast - a Russian Agent Detained.
In Kharkiv Oblast, a 22-year-old young man spied on Ukrainian military personnel and provided Russia with information about their positions. He is currently being held in custody.
What Tasks the Agent Performed for Russia
The young man worked as a laborer at an agricultural enterprise in the Izium district. He conveyed information about the deployment of Ukrainian military personnel to a Russian representative via Telegram. He was promised a reward for this.
“Under the guise of business trips, the suspect moved around the territory of the Kharkiv region, recorded the locations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine units, marked their locations on Google Maps, and sent the coordinates to the enemy”
It is noted that the spy's main focus was on military facilities in the Izium direction. This information was planned to be used by the Russian occupiers for shelling and attacks. However, law enforcement detained the man in Kharkiv, where he frequently visited due to his girlfriend.
The court granted the prosecutor's request and decided to keep the suspect in custody without the right to bail.
Earlier, a case was also revealed where a Russian agent “traveled to his dacha” in Kharkiv Oblast to monitor the Armed Forces of Ukraine and was sentenced for it. Additionally, a university employee in Kharkiv was detained for preparing terrorist acts at the request of the Russians via Telegram.
In connection with the provocative actions of Russian agents, an increase in counterintelligence measures is observed in the region to prevent unwanted reconnaissance and acts of terrorism.
