Valeriya Force Addresses Controversy Over Russian Audio Engineer, Citing Producer's Authority.
Controversy Surrounds Valeriya Force
According to Novyny.live: Ukrainian singer Valeriya Force has found herself at the center of a public controversy following accusations of collaborating with a Russian audio engineer in 2024. She has responded by stating that all major decisions were made by her producer. Between 2023 and 2024, she performed under the name Vesta as part of a producer-led project, which was terminated at the end of 2024.
Force has strongly distanced herself from the Russian market, declaring:
“I have not worked in Russia, the aggressor country, nor have I released music for that market.”She emphasized that all decisions regarding digital promotion, distribution, mixing, and mastering were the producer's responsibility and 'fell outside my area of accountability.' This controversy highlights the heightened sensitivity in Ukraine regarding professional ties with Russia since the 2022 invasion.
Moving Forward
Since 2025, Valeriya Force has been working as an artist for an American label, collaborating exclusively with sound producer Vinny Venditto. Her career momentum continues, as she has also secured a place in the final round of Ukraine's national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2026. The situation sparked lively debate in media and fan circles, but Force remains focused on her artistic path.
The scandal reflects the complex realities within the Ukrainian music industry, where artists often navigate the repercussions of ongoing political and cultural conflicts. An artist's stance on collaboration with individuals from nations considered aggressors can significantly impact their career and public standing. Valeriya Force's move to an American label and her Eurovision ambitions signal a clear effort to rebuild her career and establish a definitive position within the global music scene.
