The United Kingdom plans to finance weapons for Ukraine using seized Russian oil.
Using oil from the Russian shadow fleet to support Ukraine
According to UATV: The United Kingdom is considering the possibility of using oil seized from ships of the Russian shadow fleet to finance military support for Ukraine. This decision could be part of new measures aimed at strengthening support for Ukraine in the context of the conflict with Russia.
The British publication The Times reports on the UK's plans regarding the use of this oil. At the same time, Switzerland has made changes to the sanctions lists against the Russian shadow fleet, indicating increasing pressure on this sector.
Sanctions and international coordination
It is noted that the 20th package of sanctions aims to increase the pressure of the European Union on Russia's oil sector, which could affect the economic situation in the country and its ability to finance military actions.
These measures indicate growing international coordination in response to Russia's aggression and attempts to limit its financial resources. The use of seized oil may become an important step in providing additional resources for Ukraine, highlighting the commitment of Western countries to support Ukraine's defense capabilities in the ongoing conflict.
