“For me, it has been an honor, a privilege, and a true dream to represent this club for eight years.”
Lindelof also thanked the fans:
“I tried to give 100%. I hope the fans noticed that.”
Moving to Florence could rekindle his collaboration with former United goalkeeper David de Gea, who has been playing for the Italian club for the second season.
Lindelof and de Gea were teammates in Manchester from 2017 to 2023, after which the Spaniard left the club due to a misunderstanding regarding a new contract.
The 34-year-old goalkeeper has become a legend of United, spending 12 years at Old Trafford and making 545 appearances.
He has titles of Premier League champion, Europa League, and FA Cup, as well as two 'Golden Glove' awards for the most clean sheets in a season.
