He Gave All the Collected Funds. Border Guards Told a Touching Story About Two Comrades.
The State Border Guard Service told an impressive story of how a soldier gave all the money he collected for his treatment to pay for the treatment of his comrade from the army.
During the hostilities in the Konstantynivka area in 2023, Serhiy Hruzhenko suffered serious injuries that led to the amputation of both his legs. In a hospital in Kyiv, he became friends with Oleksandr, who also experienced amputation.
Their friendship became a support in the toughest moments
Later, Serhiy's family raised almost a million hryvnias for modern electronic prosthetics, but the charity organization covered all the costs.
Then Serhiy made an incredible act - he unhesitatingly gave all the collected money to his friend Oleksandr, so he could also receive the necessary prosthetic
Thanks to Serhiy's kindness and the support of caring people, both soldiers received a second chance at life, noted the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.
It is worth mentioning that the soldier accidentally met his friend, whom he had mourned for two years. This meeting in a foreign city was reported on the air of the 'Suspilne' TV channel. Andriy Mazur and Vitaliy Chornovol lost each other during the attack on Avdiivka.
Moreover, the fighter from the 65th brigade held a semi-surrounded position for 56 days. Due to heavy shelling and significant distances, the comrades who were supposed to replace him were unable to reach him - they were injured along the way. Therefore, the fighter fought alongside his partner against Russian stormtroopers.
Also, a scout from the 58th separate motorized infantry brigade named after Hetman Ivan Vyhovskyi, with the surname 'Vados', managed to escape from captivity, return to his military unit, and continue the fight against the occupiers.
