Deferral from mobilization: who will be denied due to existing education.
Conditions for deferral from mobilization in Ukraine
According to inkorr.com: According to the information from the Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine, Dmytro Zavhorodnii, deferral from mobilization in Ukraine is granted only to those who have not received any education after finishing school. This means that individuals with higher education applying for training at vocational institutions cannot receive such a deferral.
'For example, if you graduated from university and are applying for training at a vocational institution, no deferral is granted. You can receive a deferral if you did not have higher education before,' Zavhorodnii explained.
The main requirements for receiving a deferral are the absence of education after the 9th grade, whether it is vocational, pre-higher professional, or higher education. However, there are not many such people in Ukraine.
Unlike graduate schools, where the number of males increases due to the opportunity to receive a deferral, the situation in vocational education is different. Zavhorodnii noted that access to education in Ukraine is broad, and only a small portion of people do not study after school. During 9 months of training at vocational institutions, students prepare to enter the labor market, indicating a high demand for these educational programs.
According to the Law of Ukraine 'On Mobilization Preparation and Mobilization', deferrals can be granted to students of vocational, pre-higher professional, and higher education who are studying in full-time or dual form, provided their educational level is higher than their previously obtained one. This also applies to doctoral candidates and those undergoing internship.
Therefore, in Ukraine, deferral from mobilization is granted only to those who have no education after school. Since most people have already obtained higher education, it becomes more difficult to receive a deferral. Professional education programs offered by Ukrainian educational institutions are aimed at preparing for the labor market, and there are no issues with obtaining deferrals in these programs.
In the context of military mobilization, this information is of great importance for those who plan to continue their education. Deferral is an important aspect that may influence the decisions of many young people regarding their educational trajectory and profession. In this regard, it is essential to continue monitoring changes in legislation and educational conditions to adapt to new realities.
