Military personnel and veterans can receive free rehabilitation aids: how to apply.
Assistance for military personnel and war veterans
Military personnel and war veterans now have the opportunity to receive assistive rehabilitation aids. To take advantage of this opportunity, an application must be submitted through the Social Portal of the Ministry of Social Policy after undergoing a special assessment.
Assessment and appointment of rehabilitation aids are now conducted by expert teams starting January 1, instead of the former MSEC system.
Combat participants can receive new prosthetics without initial prosthetics if recommended by the MDRC or in case of amputation of two lower limbs or high amputation of an upper or lower limb. The maximum cost of prosthetics has also been increased.
Anyone who needs prosthetics can choose a company to receive the prosthetic, the cost of which will be covered by the state. Currently, there are more than 100 specialized companies engaged in the production of assistive rehabilitation aids.
For detailed information about the government program for free provision of rehabilitation aids, you can use the online platform protez.msp.gov.ua.
