Military Officer from Odesa Avoided Service — How He Was Punished.
A military officer from Odesa decided to take a day off using not very honest methods. For some time, he embezzled his position by transferring his salary to another officer who 'covered' for him.
This story was exposed by the Unified State Register of Court Decisions.
Case Details
The military unit operator responsible for planning decided to avoid service. To do this without arousing suspicion, the man provided another official with confidential information to receive the salary, which that official later took for himself. In total, over 1 million hryvnias were embezzled from the account.
Court Ruling
The defendant was found guilty of evading service and abusing his official position under current legislation. The man could have received up to five years in prison, but the court decided to punish him with a two-year probationary period.
It is worth recalling that recently we reported on an incident involving a military officer who beat a man, stole his car, and provoked a traffic accident, as well as about a military officer who shot a civilian in the face.
The news reveals the story of a military officer from Odesa who fraudulently evaded his official duties. He transferred confidential information to another officer to receive his salary, and after that, the entire amount was taken by himself. The court found him guilty and imposed a two-year probationary period, avoiding imprisonment. Such facts indicate the spread of corruption and violations of the law among employees of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.Read also
