Rivne Court Punishes Businessman for Selling Cars Under the Guise of Humanitarian Aid for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The Rivne City Court issued a verdict in a case against a local resident accused of illegal commercial activities with cars. The man imported them, disguising them as humanitarian aid for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, but actually sold them.
This is mentioned in the Unified State Register of Court Decisions.
Case Details
According to the verdict, the defendant organized the import of three cars (Kia Sorento, Jeep Grand Cherokee, and BMW X53) from abroad, presenting them as humanitarian aid for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. After that, he sold all the cars, earning more than 589 thousand UAH.
During the court session, the man reached a plea agreement with the prosecution.
Court Decision
The judge found the accused guilty under Part 3 of Article 201-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (sale of goods intended for humanitarian aid during martial law). However, given the agreement, the court spared the man from the main penalty and assigned him a one-year probation period.
All cars were confiscated and transferred for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Similar violations under the circumstances of war are also occurring in other regions of Ukraine. Illegal activities involving humanitarian aid are becoming the subject of court hearings, highlighting the importance of monitoring and punishing offenders.
