WhatsApp introduced new filters and backgrounds for video calls

On Tuesday, WhatsApp announced an update for its users. This time, the messenger is adding new filters and backgrounds to make video calls more attractive and personal.

“Filters, such as adding bright colors or creating artistic designs for your video, are intended to create a relaxed atmosphere. Adding a background will help maintain privacy and transport you to a cozy coffee shop or comfortable living room, creating an atmosphere of cleanliness and sophistication,” the official platform reported.

In general, users can choose from 20 filters and backgrounds to create a unique image. Filter options include “Warm,” “Cool,” “Black and white,” and others, while backgrounds include “Blur,” “Living room,” “Cafe,” and others. The update also allows adjusting the brightness of the environment shown on the camera.

To use the new filters and backgrounds, users need to tap the new icon in the upper-right corner of the screen during a video call. The update is already available for installation.
