AFPPSG enters the new Champions League season as title defenders.

The French club is once again considered one of the favorites, along with Spanish giants Barcelona and Real Madrid.

This season, six teams from the English Premier League will be represented in the Champions League.

How Does the Champions League Group Stage Draw Work?

Just like last year, 36 teams from across Europe will compete in the group stage, with each team playing eight matches.

Teams are divided into four pots according to their UEFA ranking, and opponents are selected by automated software.

Starting from Pot 1, one ball will be drawn randomly, and then the automated software randomly selects two opponents from each pot - one for home and one for away matches.

Teams cannot play more than two opponents from the same country and cannot meet other clubs belonging to the same association.

The top eight teams in the final standings automatically advance to the knockout stage.

They will be joined by eight playoff winners emerging from matches between teams that ranked 9th to 24th in the table.
