According to The Sun: Reality TV star Joey Essex will finally kick off his boxing career at Misfits 22 in Manchester, where he will face Numeiro this weekend!
Joey has big plans as he aims to compete against popular boxers like Jake Paul, Tommy Fury, and KSI in the future.
Joey Essex takes on influencer Numeiro at Misfits 22In a conversation with Sky Sports, Joey stated:
“You have Jake Paul, who is the golden boy. There are others like KSI, Tommy Fury. It depends on how far this goes.”
He added:
“I will go through the 30th round and then we'll see. I have a big name. Joey Essex against Jake Paul, Joey Essex against KSI, Joey Essex against Tommy Fury – that makes sense. But first, I have to get there.”
The 35-year-old former TOWIE star hails from a boxing family, where his uncle is renowned trainer Tony Sims.
Sims has trained famous fighters like Anthony Joshua, Joe Cordina, and Conor Benn and is the head coach at Matchroom Sport.
Speaking about his decision to take up boxing, Joey said:
“Fate. It’s what brought me into the ring. It was always meant to be.”
Joey also noted:
“I wake up and can’t wait to get back to the gym. I love it, I’ve always enjoyed it. Am I enjoying it? Yes. But it’s about perseverance.”

“I’ve seen a few of his videos where he’s boxing and training – I don’t know if he was trying to look bad to not scare me.”
He also added:
“I hope he wasn’t playing with me. If that was the real him, I’m sure I’ll beat him.”
