Starting August 1, 2024, changes regarding deferment from mobilization came into effect in Ukraine. According to the new rules, ten categories of citizens lost their right to deferment. This was reported by Oleksandr Fediienko, head of the subcommittee on cybersecurity, government communication, and cryptographic information protection of the National Security, Defense, and Intelligence Committee.

The list of individuals who lost their right to deferment includes:

  1. Part-Time students
  2. Individuals pursuing additional education
  3. Alimony non-payers
  4. Citizens declared healthy during a repeat medical examination
  5. Half-brothers of deceased servicemen (the right to deferment is retained only for full brothers)
  6. Military conscripts who take care of third-group or first and second-group disabled individuals, in case there are other relatives capable of providing care.

Fediienko emphasized that these changes are part of an updated approach to mobilization in Ukraine.
