Teachers' salaries will increase by 30% from January 2026: details of the government's decision.
According to ТСН: The government of Ukraine has decided to significantly increase payments to employees in the education sector. According to the new plan, teachers' salaries will rise by 30% as of January 2026.
This was announced by Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko on social media.
"To implement this decision, funding has already been provided in the budget for the first 8 months of 2026. 91.8 billion UAH of the educational subvention has been distributed among local budgets, with an additional 21.4 billion UAH redirected to ensure proper provision for the increase without raising overall state budget expenditures," noted Yulia Svyrydenko.
She also noted that the next stage of the reform is planned for September 2026, when teachers’ salaries will increase by another 20%.
It should be noted that the adopted State Budget of Ukraine for 2026 foresees a moderate increase in social standards and a significant indexing of teachers' salaries.
Earlier, it became known that the Council adopted the budget-2026, which defines the parameters of the minimum wage, subsistence minimum, and teachers' salaries.
This increase aims to support educators in difficult times and stimulate the development of the educational process. It is expected that these changes will positively impact the quality of education and motivate teachers for professional growth.
