As part of its support for Ukraine, Canada imposed sanctions on over 160 individuals and entities linked to Russia's shadow fleet. Meanwhile, former U.S. President Donald Trump expressed the view that “Russia should make a deal, because losses on both sides are huge.” He also claimed that in the past month, “at least 35,000 soldiers have been killed.”
Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney offered an optimistic outlook, declaring:
“Ukraine will win. It’s only a matter of time.”These statements reflect the prevailing sentiment at the summit, where strategies for further backing Ukraine amid ongoing Russian aggression were discussed.
The G7 summit served as a key platform for deliberating future support for Ukraine, highlighting international solidarity with Kyiv in the face of protracted military aggression from Russia.
