Zelensky proposes involving Europe in peace talks

The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has expressed support for the idea of involving a special representative from Europe in negotiations aimed at ending the war in Eastern Ukraine. He stated this during a video conference with media representatives.

According to the president, the United States is a strategic partner and one of the largest donors of aid to Ukraine, but Europe must also actively participate in the negotiations and provide security guarantees.

'The format that Europe proposes or how it supports Ukraine, in what format, and what security guarantees Europe is ready to provide – all this will definitely be on the table, for sure. Who this will be – we will think about that. It is important for us that this is not only a person who represents Europe and is respected by Europe. It is very important that there is an understanding at the table that this is a serious person,' Zelensky emphasized.

The president stressed that the participants in the negotiations must be countries ready not only to represent Europe but also to take responsibility for ensuring security, providing assistance, and investing in Ukraine's recovery and preventing further aggression from Russia.
