Zelensky: Russia is holding nearly 20,000 Ukrainian children – how they are being returned.
According to inkorr.com: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky spoke out about the illegal detention of Ukrainian children in Russia, emphasizing the importance of involving the international community to secure their return. According to him, approximately 19,500 Ukrainian children may remain beyond the aggressor's control.
The situation with the detention of children
Zelensky reported that about 400 locations have been identified where kidnapped children are held in Russia. The search for and return of these children is a complex and multi-step process.
Results of cooperation
Thanks to cooperation with U.S. intelligence agencies, over 1,600 Ukrainian children have been successfully returned home. However, the problem remains pressing, as Ukrainian children continue to be held captive by Russian occupiers.
This situation highlights the necessity of joint actions at the international level to address the issue of child abduction during the conflict. The return of children home is an important step towards their recovery and safety, requiring efforts not only from Ukraine but also from other countries around the world.
