Zelensky's statement at the Munich Security Conference

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky spoke at the Munich Security Conference, stating that Ukraine does not need intermediaries in the war with Russia but requires direct support from the USA.

'We are not two countries fighting each other, but Russia has brought war to our land. Therefore, we do not need a mediator; we need the USA to be on our side,' emphasized the president.

Zelensky dismissed the possibility of signing a peace agreement in Munich due to the absence of US President Donald Trump and referenced the historical context of such a decision. He also stressed that Russian-Ukrainian relations are very complex.

Regarding ceasefire attempts and prisoner exchanges, Zelensky mentioned that he has already had such discussions with Vladimir Putin, but no agreement has been reached so far. He also called Putin a liar.

Willingness to meet with the US Vice President

The President also stated that he is ready to meet with US Vice President Mike Pence to discuss a deal on mineral resources, but before signing any documents, they must be thoroughly analyzed.

After Zelensky's speech, Senator Lindsey Graham urged continued support for Ukraine, including the transfer of weapons, and emphasized the importance of preventing new aggression from Russia. He also added that signing an agreement on Ukrainian mineral resources could help end the war in Ukraine.

Prospects for Ukraine's NATO membership

Zelensky also mentioned the prospects of Ukraine joining NATO and stated that he has never heard during his conversations about this. He emphasized that this issue is up to US policy but at the same Time did not rule out the possibility of changing this policy. If joining NATO is not possible, Zelensky noted that Ukraine will create its own security system.

According to Zelensky, to ensure real security guarantees and prevent a new invasion from Russia, Ukraine needs an army of 1.5 million people.

Last conversation with Trump and position on negotiations with Russia

Zelensky also talked about his last conversation with Donald Trump and confirmed that he received a personal phone number from him. He shared that Trump gave him the option to call at any time and expressed hope that Trump would help Ukraine.

According to Zelensky, if Trump supports Ukraine, he can influence Putin and stop the war. The president also stated that he is ready to meet with Putin, but only on the condition that there is a common plan with Trump and Europe that will allow stopping the conflict. He emphasized that he is not ready for compromise terms.
