Zelensky confirmed his conversation with Trump about freezing the war for the first time.
Zelensky revealed the details of his negotiations with Trump and Macron regarding the end of the war
The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, stated that the issue of freezing the conflict was discussed during a meeting with the future President of the United States, Donald Trump, and the President of France, Emmanuel Macron.
'We want the end of the war more than anyone else in the world. And certainly, a diplomatic ending to the war will save more lives,' Zelensky emphasized.
The President stressed that Russia can only be forced to end the war by being strong on the battlefield. For this, a strong army, weapon packages, and long-range systems are necessary. Zelensky also noted that discussing NATO membership with Trump is complicated, as he does not yet hold the position of President of the United States.
The President plans to discuss the invitation to NATO with Joe Biden. He also expressed gratitude to the United States for the aid package of nearly one billion dollars. Zelensky also mentioned that Macron suggested deploying troops from other countries on Ukrainian territory as a security guarantee before joining NATO. However, for this, Ukraine must have a clear understanding of its accession to the EU and NATO.
