Ukraine repelled a massive air attack
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky on October 6, 2024, announced the successful repulsion of a massive air attack last night. According to him, the air defense forces destroyed more than 50 Shahed kamikaze drones in 14 regions of the country, including Mykolaiv, Odesa, Kyiv, and Kharkiv regions.
"This daily air terror can be stopped. For this, partner unity and long-range capabilities are needed," Zelensky emphasized, underlining the importance of international support to protect the lives of Ukrainians.
The President also disclosed the scale of the attacks over the past week: about 20 missiles of various types, over 800 guided aerial bombs, and nearly 400 strike drones. Zelensky announced that next week, as part of "Ramstein," work will continue with partners to strengthen Ukraine's air defense.
The Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine earlier released information about the repulsion of the attack, specifying that a total of 56 strike UAVs and two missiles were shot down.
