The Woman is Not Equal to the Man. A New Sexist Scandal in Ukrainian Sports.
High jumper Vadim Kravchuk published a series of scandalous comments under the post by 'Suspilne Sport', dedicated to the sexist statements of the president of the football club 'Inhulets', Oleksandr Povorozniuk.
On his Instagram page, a post was published where the women's national football team of Ukraine expressed their condemnation of the sexist statements made by the head of 'Inhulets', Oleksandr Povorozniuk. The owner of the club from Petrovo, commenting on the absence of a women's team from 'Inhulets', stated that he 'does not understand women's football' and has no intention of creating such a team.
'I don’t know. It's not for me. I don’t understand women’s football. Apart from beautiful girls, I see no football. And with beautiful girls, we need to do something else, not play football,' said Povorozniuk.
In response to the president of 'Inhulets' statements, the women's national football team of Ukraine prepared an address condemning his words. Individual statements made by Povorozniuk were commented on by the football player of the Ukrainian team, Yana Kotek, in comments for Suspilne Sport.
Povorozniuk's remarks about women's football were actively condemned in the comments on Instagram. However, the next day, high jumper Vadim Kravchuk came to the defense of the president of 'Inhulets', writing several sexist comments.
Attention! There is obscene language!
Kravchuk noted that women and men 'must be equal in the trenches' when it comes to equality in women's and men's football. He also responded to other users' comments who disputed his opinion.
'I like women's football, but I don’t understand why players think they are on the same level as men. How can a woman compare herself to a man when women's rights are completely being defended now? If you want to go abroad, do what you want, create new families abroad while men are being hunted like dogs. Who can be compared to someone like that?' wrote Kravchuk.
Vadim Kravchuk is a participant in this year's Indoor Athletics Euro. At the competitions in Apeldoorn, the 28-year-old high jumper did not qualify and finished the competition at a height of 2.18 meters.
