The National Women's Team of Ukraine in 3x3 basketball learned their group opponents for the World Championship, which will take place from June 23 to 29 in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. The team, coached by Yuriy Protsyuk, was placed in Group D, where they will compete alongside Germany and Spain, the hosts Mongolia, and the qualified team from Brazil.
The competitions will be held from June 23 to 29. On the first game day, the Ukrainian team will face Spain and Germany, while on June 26 matches against Brazil and Mongolia will take place.
Participation in Tournaments and the Absence of Russia and Belarus
The Ukrainian team returns to the World Championship, where they last played in 2019. Overall, this will be the sixth participation of the women's team in the 3x3 World Championship, and they have previously won medals.
The Executive Committee of the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) has continued the suspension of Russian and Belarusian clubs and teams from tournaments. The decision was made at the organization’s executive committee meeting in Bahrain. FIBA intends to revisit the issue of the suspension of Russians and Belarusians at the next executive committee meeting in August.
In 2022, FIBA suspended the teams of Russia and Belarus from participating in competitions due to Russian aggression against Ukraine.
