Ukraine's women's basketball team U-18 started the European Championship with a victory.
In the first match of the European Championship for women's U-18 basketball teams, Ukraine's team achieved their first victory by defeating Kosovo 62:51. The game was tense, but the Ukrainian athletes showed resilience and made a decisive breakthrough in the second half, maintaining their lead until the end of the match.
Among the best players of the match were Polina Tupalo - 11 points and 12 rebounds, Valeria Kutsenko - 12 points and 8 rebounds, and Victoria Petryshak - 9 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 steals. The next match for the Ukraine U-18 team will be against Azerbaijan on July 5 at 20:30.
The FIBA executive committee also made an important decision at this championship regarding the exclusion of Russian and Belarusian teams from tournaments.
