Denmark supports the deployment of military contingents to Ukraine
According to a survey by Ritzau, a majority of Danish voters support sending troops to Ukraine after the war ends. Specifically, 53% of respondents were in favor of Denmark's participation in any future troop deployment, 15% were against it, and 32% had no opinion on the matter.
Additionally, a majority - 66% of respondents - expressed support for Ukraine's accession to the European Union, and 68% noted that Ukraine should become a NATO member.
Denmark, which is one of Ukraine's major military donors, has donated $7.55 billion in military aid since the beginning of Russian aggression.
Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen stated that it is too early to talk about sending peacekeepers, but she supports the UK's plans. She reaffirmed her support during a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in February.
At the same Time, Polish Defense Minister Mariusz Błaszczak stated that no country bordering Russia should participate in a potential peacekeeping mission in Ukraine, as this could lead to provocations.
It was previously reported that UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer is prepared to deploy British troops in Ukraine to ensure compliance with a peace agreement. He emphasized that this step carries significant risks, but it is part of the security guarantees that London provides to Ukraine.
