AFU counterattack in the north and the enemy suffers losses in the east – ISW report.
Amid active offensive actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kursk region, Russian occupiers are focusing their main efforts on capturing the Donetsk region. In the Kharkiv and Luhansk regions, the enemy also continues offensive operations but achieves only limited success. This is stated in the ISW report.
AFU operation in Russia
In the Kursk region, Ukrainian troops continue offensive actions to the west of the Ukrainian front, but so far without advancement. The Russians claim to have repelled Ukrainian attacks and advanced southeast of Sudzha. Russia has increased the number of its grouping in the Kursk region but has problems with effectively using manpower.
Kharkiv region
In the Kharkiv region, Russian troops are trying to push Ukrainian forces away from the border with the Belgorod region and approach Kharkiv. Recently, they managed to achieve slight advancement in Vovchansk, but Ukrainian defenders repelled the attack, causing the enemy losses in equipment. North of Kharkiv, the Russians are also conducting limited offensive operations, but so far without significant success.
Luhansk region
In the Luhansk region, the enemy continues offensive actions northwest of Kreminna and west of Svatove. Slight advancement of the Russians west of Makiivka has been confirmed. Russian claims about advancement south of Makiivka and the capture of Vyshneve need verification. Heavy fighting continues northeast of Kupiansk, southeast of Kupiansk, northwest of Svatove, west of Svatove, northwest of Kreminna, and southwest of Kreminna.
Donetsk region
In the Donetsk region, Russian troops continue offensive operations northeast of Siversk and east of Siversk, but so far without confirmed successes. Fighting also continues in the Chasiv Yar direction. Russian troops managed to achieve slight advancement towards Toretsk. The enemy continues offensive operations east and southeast of Pokrovsk, with reports of advancement in the areas of Tsukuryne and Mykolaivka. Russian claims about the capture of Kruty Yar need confirmation. Fighting continues west of Donetsk, southwest of Donetsk, and in the area of the Donetsk-Zaporizhzhia region border.
«Southern Axis»
The Russians conducted limited ground attacks in the western Zaporizhzhia region but without confirmed advancement. Russian shelling led to the disconnection of one of the power lines of the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, putting the plant on the brink of a blackout. No active combat actions have been recorded in the Kherson region.
