The Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kursk region will receive important equipment from the United States against North Korean soldiers.

This was reported by Forbes analyst David Ax.

Currently, thousands of North Korean soldiers are concentrated in the Kursk region, planning to engage in combat in the coming days to support the Russian army. However, Ukrainian military forces will also receive significant assistance to counter Russian pressure. The latest aid package from the United States includes at least 212 Stryker armored vehicles.

According to the analyst, most of the Strykers transferred to Ukraine are already in the Kursk region, so it is expected that additional vehicles will also be deployed in this area.

The "maneuverable Stryker with its maximum speed of 60 miles per hour is suitable for chaotic urban battles and rapid road assaults characteristic of fighting in the Kursk region... in addition to speed and maneuverability, the vehicle is a good observational and fire platform for mounted sensors and weaponry," emphasized Ax.

The analyst also noted that considering the loss of approximately two dozen Strykers during combat, the new shipment from the United States will increase the number of these armored vehicles in the UAF to nearly 400. Ukraine typically allocates them to assault brigades - three battalions with 31 vehicles in each brigade.

Ax pointed out that previous batches of Strykers were sufficient to equip the 80th and 82nd assault brigades, which deployed battalions to invade Kursk at the beginning of August. The third assault brigade, the 95th, is also in Kursk - and does not yet have these vehicles. According to him, it now makes sense to equip this brigade to match its strength with the other two.

In conditions of severe manpower shortages, new Strykers, with a maximum speed of 60 miles per hour, are likely the only assistance that Ukrainian forces will receive in the Kursk region.

It is worth noting that ISW assessed the consequences of North Korea's involvement in Russia's war against Ukraine.
