On August 24, defenders who returned from captivity met with their relatives. The video of this meeting was published by "Suspilne".

One of the soldiers was met by his wife, son Kyrylo, and little daughter Yevhenia. The girl was born while her father was in captivity, so he didn't even know about her birth.

The soldier's wife, Anastasia, said that little Kyrylo always kissed his photo. The boys were told that the "bad uncle" took daddy and wouldn't let him go.

"I'm happy that my husband can see how our children grow up. In October, our daughter will turn two years old, and we will celebrate her birthday for the first time as a whole family," said Anastasia.

Earlier, journalists of the "I Want to Live" project showed Russian prisoners who were exchanged for 115 Ukrainians on August 24.

Let us recall that Ukraine returned another 115 defenders from enemy captivity. This was the 55th exchange, all those who were freed were conscripted soldiers, including those who were captured during the heroic defense of their homeland in the early months of the full-scale Russian invasion in 2022.
