Queues at the border of Lviv region: where the most traffic jams are and how to avoid them.
Today, August 14, queues of cars have formed in the Lviv region before several border crossing points. To avoid wasting Time waiting, drivers are advised to check the traffic load at these border crossing points in advance.
This was reported by the spokesperson of the seventh Prykarpattia detachment, Svitlana Burda, in a comment for Novyny.LIVE.
Queues at the border in Lviv region — details
On this day, border guards are recording the accumulation of vehicles before the following border crossing points in Lviv region:
- Krakivets — 70 vehicles;
- Shegyni — 45 vehicles;
- Hryshiv — 10 vehicles.
Svitlana Burda advised drivers to monitor the traffic load at the border crossing points on their official Facebook pages and choose less congested routes.
She also noted that the optimal time for crossing the border is early morning or late evening, when traffic is the least.
'Pay attention to the border crossing points Myzhankovichi and Smilnytsia — they have the lowest traffic intensity, allowing for quick crossing of the Ukrainian-Polish border,' Burda emphasized.
According to data, since the beginning of summer, over 3.7 million people and almost 700 thousand vehicles have entered Lviv region. On weekends, the load increases on average by 16% compared to weekdays, and the passenger flow has increased by 40%, reaching peak levels this season.
It is important to note that repair work is currently underway on the 'Shegyni' border crossing point from the Ukrainian side, temporarily reducing the capacity for both passenger and freight vehicles.
It was previously reported about large queues at the border of Ukraine on August 14, as well as the conduct of over 150 simultaneous searches across the country on August 13 aimed at closing channels for the transportation of draft-age men abroad.
It was reported that in Lviv region there is a high density at the border crossing points. Drivers are advised to check in advance which points are less loaded and to choose the optimal time for travel. Since the beginning of summer, the number of trips in Lviv region has increased, leading to long queues.
