Odessa businessmen organized a scheme for illegal transportation abroad: they face up to 9 years of imprisonment.
Three residents of the Odessa region organized a scheme for the illegal transportation of men to Moldova, Romania, and Transnistria. However, during the delivery of the next client, they were caught in the act, and they face up to 9 years of imprisonment.
This was reported by the Odessa Regional Prosecutor's Office.
Details of the case
One of the defendants established an illegal scheme for the exit of conscript-age men beyond the borders of Ukraine, bypassing checkpoints. Working as a taxi driver, he offered passengers the 'service' of illegal transportation to the unrecognized Transnistria, the Republic of Moldova, or Romania.
To implement the plan, he involved 2 accomplices who handled transportation and organized border crossings in remote areas.
What punishment awaits
The defendants have been notified of suspicion under part 3 of Article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal transportation of persons across the border). They face from 7 to 9 years of imprisonment.
Recall that recently we wrote about a scheme for transportation abroad under a trailer. We also reported on a man who fled to Moldova on a paraglider.
The event in the Odessa region, where three residents organized a scheme for the illegal transportation of people across the border, reflects serious consequences for violators of the law. Illegal activities of this nature can lead to lengthy prison sentences and other severe consequences.Read also
