In June, the number of Ukrainians receiving temporary protection in the European Union increased. This concerns 32,940 individuals.

This was reported by Eurostat on Monday, August 11.

Temporary protection for Ukrainians in the EU

As of June 30, 4.31 million citizens from countries that left Ukraine due to the Russian invasion held temporary protection status.

During the first month of summer, the total number of Ukrainians with EU protection increased by 32,940 individuals. The increase occurred in all countries, but the largest was:

  • in Poland (+5,660 individuals);
  • in the Czech Republic (+4,745 individuals);
  • in Germany (+3,805 individuals).

Currently, the largest number of Ukrainian refugees is in Germany — over 1.19 million individuals, in Poland — about 992 thousand, and in the Czech Republic — about 378 thousand.

It is known that women make up 44.7% of adults, and 31.2% of minors. Meanwhile, adult men account for 24.1% of the total number of Ukrainian citizens with temporary protection in the European Union.

The Eurostat report indicates an increase in the number of Ukrainians who received temporary protection in the European Union during June. The largest number of refugees from Ukraine is in Germany, and the total number has increased in all countries, including Poland, the Czech Republic, and Germany.
