In Ukraine, the quality of gasoline at gas stations was checked: the results surprised drivers.

Ukrainians were told about the quality of gasoline at Ukrainian gas stations
In January-February 2025, the Institute of Consumer Expertise conducted a check on the quality of A-95 gasoline at Ukrainian gas stations. The results of the study revealed changes in fuel quality.
Samples of A-95 gasoline were taken from 16 different gas stations. They were laboratory tested for octane number, sulfur content, aromatic hydrocarbons, and benzene. The results were categorized into three groups depending on fuel quality.

This Time, the number of leaders significantly exceeded the number of outsiders. Private gas station chains such as WOG, AMIC, OKKO, and KLO demonstrated quality fuel. Their reputation as reliable players in the market was confirmed.
The state company UKRNAFTA and the PARALLEL network also demonstrated high fuel quality. The VOSTOKGAZ and SVR networks, despite the difficult situation in combat zones, maintained their reputation. The MARSHALL network also entered the leaders for the first time.
When checking the fuel, experts measured the octane number of gasoline. The leaders in this indicator were WOG (95.8 units) and AMIC and KLO (95.7 units). High octane number values ensure smooth engine operation and lower fuel consumption.
The sulfur content in the fuel was also checked. The best indicators were shown by the WOG and UKRNAFTA networks with minimal sulfur content of 4 and 5 mg/kg, respectively. In addition, all studied networks had normal levels of aromatic hydrocarbons and benzene.

Several gas station networks, such as MOTTO, FAKTOR, VST, SVOI, and BVS, fell into this category. Their fuel quality meets the standards but is close to the limit permissible values.
These networks have improved the quality of their fuel compared to previous studies where they fell into the 'red' category.

Only BRSM-Nafta and EURO 5 fell into this category. In BRSM-Nafta, the sulfur content slightly exceeds the norm, and in EURO 5, the sulfur and benzene content significantly exceeds the norm.
Experts attribute the improvement in fuel quality to two reasons: a large profit margin on fuel and the cessation of operations of counterfeit fuel producers by law enforcement agencies. However, the director of the Institute of Consumer Expertise, Yuriy Chernobryvets, warns against excessive optimism and reminds about the possibility of a return of low-quality fuel.
This check showed that there is quality fuel at Ukrainian gas stations that meets quality standards.
