EU Commissioner Marta Kos confirmed that an intergovernmental conference will take place on June 15, officially launching negotiations for Ukraine’s membership in the European Union.

Commissioner Kos arrived in Kyiv on June 8 to discuss key aspects of the integration process. The accession talks will start with the first cluster of EU legislation, known as the 'Fundamentals.' This cluster covers critical areas including:

During his remarks, the government official stressed that Ukraine does not need to start any structural reforms in the rule-of-law sector from scratch.
