Ukraine's Defense Forces Hit Russian Refineries and Report 82 Engagements in One Day: New Tactical Gains.
Frontline Update: June 28
According to UATV: On June 28, Ukraine recorded 82 combat clashes along the front, underscoring the intensity of ongoing hostilities. Ukrainian defense forces struck Russian oil refineries, including the 'Slavyansky' refinery in Krasnodar Krai and a facility in Yaroslavl Oblast. The 'Slavyansky' refinery lies 300 kilometers from Ukrainian positions, while the second target is 700 kilometers away. These strikes are part of Kyiv's broader effort to degrade critical military resources of the adversary.
Ukrainian Forces' Successes
In recent days, Ukrainian forces have confirmed the destruction of:
- 14 artillery pieces
- One self-propelled artillery system (SPG)
- One 'Grad' multiple rocket launcher
State border guards also eliminated Russian communication antennas, drone control systems, and electronic warfare equipment. Over the past week, border guard pilots conducted operations across four front-line sectors.
Since the start of the full-scale invasion, Ukraine's defense forces have eliminated over 1.4 million Russian military personnel. In just the last 24 hours, the Russian army suffered significant losses, including:
- 1,250 soldiers
- 3 tanks
- 9 armored vehicles
- 63 artillery systems
- 2 multiple rocket launchers
- 7 air defense systems
- 14 unmanned ground vehicles
- Over 500 units of equipment
Fierce battles continue across multiple front-line sectors. In the Lyman direction, Ukrainian forces repelled attacks near Novoselovka, Zarechny, Yampol, Stavky, and Drobysheve. In the Slavyansk direction, defenses held against assaults in Zakitnoye, Kalenikov, Reznikovka, Rai-Alexandrovka, and Krivaya Luka. In the Pokrovsk sector, Russian troops failed in attempts to dislodge Ukrainian positions from Dorozhny, Novoaleksandrovka, Vasilyevka, Rodinskoye, Udachnoye, Filiya, Volnoye, and Belitskoye. In the Gulyaipole direction, attacks were repelled near Vozdvizhevka, Gorky, Kvitkovoye, and Charivnoye.
'Only a comprehensive approach of this kind will undermine Russia's might,' stated retired Lieutenant General Mykola Malomuzh.
Meanwhile, the front-line situation remains tense. 'In the Lyman direction, occupiers are attempting to infiltrate with small assault groups under drone cover. But Ukraine's defense forces are holding their positions,' emphasized Dmytro Snegirev.
The high tempo of combat and Ukrainian forces' numerous successes highlight the ongoing struggle, particularly amid escalating tensions. Successful strikes on key enemy military installations demonstrate Ukraine's strategic approach to warfare, aimed at diminishing Russia's combat potential. Continued operations of this kind could influence the overall trajectory of the conflict and strengthen Ukraine's position on the battlefield.
