Scorching Heat Up to +38°C Hits Ukraine on June 29: Where Thunderstorms Will Strike and When Relief Arrives.
Ukraine Weather Forecast for June 29
According to Novyny.live: Starting June 29, Ukraine braces for intense heat, with temperatures climbing as high as +38°C. Isolated thunderstorms with rain are expected in the Zakarpattia, Volyn, and Sumy regions. Temperature ranges across the country will vary significantly:
- Western Ukraine: +28…+38°C;
- Southern Ukraine: +33…+35°C;
- Eastern Ukraine: +27…+29°C.
This extreme heat, potentially reaching +40°C, is driven by an African atmospheric front moving across Ukraine. Meteorologists predict a break from the scorching conditions starting July 2. Forecaster Natalia Didenko noted,
“A cooldown is expected on July 2-3, coinciding with the arrival of an atmospheric front that will bring heavy rain and thunderstorms.”
In July, temperatures across Ukraine will remain elevated, with highs around +33°C.
Residents should prepare for both sweltering days and possible precipitation in certain areas. The heatwave poses risks to agriculture, energy systems, and public health, increasing electricity demand for cooling and raising the likelihood of heat-related illnesses. The anticipated cooling trend and rainfall in early July may offer some relief, but staying updated on weather alerts and following safety guidelines remains crucial.
