Ukrainians are being given full heating bills: what is the reason for the violations.
Problems with heating bills in Ukraine
According to inkorr.com: This year, Ukrainians may receive full heating bills, even if they are actually receiving an insufficient amount of heat. According to information, about 93% of utility companies charge payments with violations. The head of the 'Consumers Union of Utility Services' Oleg Popenko noted that this will become a serious issue this heating season. He emphasized that incorrect billing may be a more important issue than the actual lack of heat.
Popenko warned citizens about the possible heat shortage and highlighted the risk of receiving full bills even with limited supply.
The expert added that the lack of control over utility monopolies can lead to unjustified charges. He cited statistics showing that more than 90% of utility companies incorrectly calculate payments. Popenko also drew attention to the increase in debt during the early months of the heating season.
Risks for consumers
The risk of receiving full heating bills, even with limited heat supply, can pose a serious challenge for Ukrainians this heating season. Incorrect charges by utility companies can lead to a significant increase in household debt.
These problems underscore the need for strengthened control over utility companies and ensuring fair billing practices for consumers. The challenges of this heating season require governmental bodies to take effective measures to protect consumer rights.
