Adele at the Center of a Legal Dispute Over 'Ghosts' of the Castle

According to The Sun: A scandal erupted around the 'Lock House', known as the 'Ghost Castle', where Adele has rented accommodations. The owners believe her comments about malevolent beings have made the property practically unsellable.

Adele lived in this house, which is owned by entrepreneur Nicholas Sutton and his wife Ayse, a Turkish princess. They have been trying to sell it since 2010, but to no avail.

The owners set a price of £6 million, but no buyer has come forward. Sutton accused Adele, claiming her words 'had a negative impact on future marketing efforts and continue to damage the property's reputation.'

'I am not the only one haunting here. It terrifies me,' commented Adele on her experiences in the house.

Legal Disputes

Sutton decided to sue the agency Strutt & Parker for 'professional deficiencies'. The court proceedings began on July 21.

The castle, built in 1900, was remodeled in Art Deco style in the 1930s. The village of Partidge Green is known for its mystical stories, and locals often report ghosts that scare some residents. At the 'Green Man' pub, there are even rumors of a 'cat ghost'.

Locals Against Developers

Moreover, Sutton faced strong opposition from locals who rejected his plan to convert the house into three residential units. Residents believe the property is unpopular not only due to the price but also because of its condition.

'The price has barely changed with each sales attempt - despite the obvious degradation of the roof and the entire house,' noted one of the neighbors.

The house, which once served as a monastery, features ten bedrooms, a pool, and a helicopter pad. Sutton is convinced that his redevelopment will solve the housing shortage issue, but not all residents agree.

Nevertheless, the council approved Sutton's building plans in March despite various objections. The property, which was previously listed by agencies Savills and Knight Frank, has been withdrawn from sale.

The newspaper The Sun has contacted Adele's representatives for a comment.

The situation surrounding Adele's ghost castle reflects not only the conflict between celebrities and locals but also larger issues in the real estate market, especially those involving the promotion and reputation of properties. The legal disputes could not only determine the future fate of this castle but also Adele's influence on the regional real estate market.
