“I decided to release songs in Russian.” Singer Luna and her husband left Ukraine.
Ukrainian singer Khrystyna Herasymova, known by the pseudonym Luna, moved to Spain with her husband Oleksandr Voloshchuk. She revealed this in an interview with the Russian publication "Meduza".
According to the artist, she intends to continue releasing songs in Russian.
"I decided to release songs in Russian. In the conditions of war, it is impossible to promote the culture and language of the aggressor country. Accepting this, I decided to work and perform for an audience abroad that accepts me and my creativity. As a result, I packed my life into 30 boxes and left with my child," the artist explained.
Herasymova emphasized that her husband had no difficulty crossing the Ukrainian border.
"He decided to leave, as natural social processes in Ukraine paradoxically increasingly resemble the structural settings of the Russian Federation," the woman said.
Luna stated that she does not intend to sever ties with Ukraine.
"I left primarily due to fatigue from constant stress: anxieties, shelling, power outages. The birth of the younger child made the decision to leave obvious. As a mother, I wanted to ensure the safety of the newborn child. Although it was important for me to give birth to my son in Ukraine, I could not ignore the constant danger. I am deeply convinced that certain important things happen only on native soil, and therefore I am not renouncing Ukraine and not breaking ties with it," she added.
It is worth noting that Luna married musician, composer, guitarist, and sound producer Voloshchuk in 2021. Their son, named Mykyta, was born on January 11, 2024, in one of Kyiv's maternity hospitals.
Earlier, Ukrainian producer Yuriy Bardash, who fled to Moscow and praises the Kremlin's policies, accused his former wife — singer Luna — of a pro-Ukrainian position, which, in his opinion, harms their mutual son.
