This derelict shop in central London was featured in the movie 'Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels', which was released nearly 30 years ago. It is located on the outskirts of Borough Market, next to the place where gangsters hide in this Guy Ritchie film.

The characters played by Jason Statham and Jason Flemyng, Bacon and Tom, return to the building on Park Street to join the gang. The group also includes Eddie, played by Nick Moran, and Soap, portrayed by Dexter Fletcher. Before the scene, the heroes speak with the big gangster 'Harry the Hatchet', played by the late P.H. Moriarty.

The heroes inform him that they have gathered £100,000 to participate in a high-stakes poker game. Park Street appears on screen as they return to the hideout, before eavesdropping on their opponents who are doing drugs in the adjacent room.

Park Street also became a popular location in the films 'Bridget Jones's Baby' and 'Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban'. Today, the buildings are covered in graffiti and blend into the noisy life of the capital.

“This is not a photo opportunity” – jokes one of the inscriptions on the wall.

The film 'Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels' was made for less than £1 million, but it earned over £20 million at the box office. The plot tells the story of a man and his friends who lose a poker game to a gangster and plan how to repay the debt.

The Actors' Success and the Film's Legacy

This iconic crime comedy helped Guy Ritchie and Jason Statham rise to fame. Jason became the highest-paid British actor, earning £32 million in 2023.

However, he is not the only one who gained popularity thanks to this film. Vinnie Jones, who played Big Chris, Harry the Hatchet's henchman, became a star due to his aggressive style. Nick Moran has appeared in many films and TV shows, including in 'Harry Potter', while Jason Flemyng has found success in films like 'Stitch Up', 'Reckless', and 'X-Men: First Class'. Dexter Fletcher also continued his career and became a director in the film 'Rocketman'. Earlier this year, condolences were expressed regarding the death of P.H. Moriarty.
