A gigantic entertainment center for families will open in the former Debenhams.
New family entertainment center in Basildon
According to The Sun: A part of the abandoned shopping center will be transformed into a large new attraction for families. The former Debenhams store in Basildon shopping center, Essex, will be the basis for the new entertainment complex "FunParx" this winter.
FunParxThe attraction will be located on the upper floor of the Eastgate shopping center and will include a large inflatable play area, soft play zone, ninja-style obstacles, slides, and darts.
The project is estimated to cost £600,000 and is part of a wider "FunParx" program, which plans to open seven venues across the UK by the end of the year.
Tickets will cost between £9.50 and £10 per person per session.
“We are very excited to introduce FunParx at Eastgate. This is a fantastic addition to the community and will create a new landmark in the city center.”
Four more "FunParx" parks are planned, one of which has already opened in Dundee, with the Edinburgh opening scheduled for October 14.
The site in Basildon, along with facilities in Cheltenham and Warrington, currently has no opening date.
The theme of the "FunParx" parks is based on an anime universe known as "Portal Worlds". Each portal (or attraction) in different locations may vary.
“But watch out, for the evil High Lord has sent his monsters across the portal world!”
“The less fun you have, the more they evolve into bigger, meaner monsters!”
“So the only thing left to do is to join our four noble heroes, the FunParx Four, and have as much fun as possible!”

The site in Dundee will also feature a ninja-style obstacle zone with features such as boxes and monkey bars. Additionally, there is Slide City with four slides, one of which has round seating.
At Monster Airpark, visitors can compete against each other on the inflatable attraction with bouncy slides.

The new attraction in Basildon does not yet have an opening date, but another facility is scheduled to open in Edinburgh on October 14.
This new entertainment center promises to become an important part of the region's entertainment life, offering new opportunities for families to visit an amusement park near home. The development of such centers could boost the local economy as it attracts more visitors who contribute to the growth of businesses in retail and sports.
The launch of "FunParx" in Basildon will capture the attention of the local community and provide new entertainment for residents, which could be a great addition to the existing entertainment venues in this area.
