Qantas Unveils New Aircraft

According to Novyny.live: Australian carrier Qantas has introduced the A350-1000ULR, an ultra-long-range jet capable of flying nonstop between Sydney and London or New York, with flight durations reaching up to 22 hours. This aircraft, bearing serial number MSN 707, completed its maiden voyage in Toulouse, France.

The A350-1000ULR can remain airborne for 22 hours without refueling, positioning it among the world's longest-range commercial planes. The distance from Sydney to either New York or London is nearly 18,500 kilometers. During its first flight, which lasted 3 hours and 43 minutes, the aircraft climbed to an altitude of 12.4 kilometers.

Technological Innovations

To extend its range, the jet features an additional rear center fuel tank. Its galley air-cooling system will also be certified using lighter, more efficient components. These upgrades enhance comfort and efficiency on long-haul journeys, making the A350-1000ULR a significant milestone in aviation.

The introduction of this aircraft highlights the aviation industry's growing focus on expanding flight ranges and improving passenger experience. With these new capabilities, Qantas can broaden its route network and attract more travelers seeking nonstop long-distance flights. This move may also intensify competition among airlines vying for leadership in the international travel market.
