Aidan O'Brien has found a replacement for Ryan Moore: who will take the main horse races of the season.
Aidan O'Brien has found a replacement for Ryan Moore
According to The Sun: Aidan O'Brien has chosen an 'unusual' apprentice jockey to replace Christophe Soumillon after Ryan Moore's injury forced him to end the season. The Ballydoyle boss confirmed that Super Sou will be involved in key races as the turf season comes to an end.
Apprentice jockey Jack Cleary could become a real star for Aidan O'Brien as he faces challenges due to the absence of Ryan Moore and Wayne LordanO'Brien is looking for other jockeys since Moore is out with a broken leg. Additionally, Wayne Lordan, the Derby winner, will not be able to participate in St Leger and the Irish Champions Festival due to a ban he is appealing.
Jack Cleary steps in
With absent jockeys, O'Brien is looking for replacements for key races. Super Sou is set to become a significant signing, and one of the jockeys likely to receive great opportunities is Jack Cleary, who has yet to gain wide recognition.
The Irish apprentice has already achieved 15 wins in 88 rides for O'Brien. His results promise good returns for betting, as at the time of writing he shows +11.71 to a £1 bet.
His recent win at odds of 14-1 on Two For Joy at Cork racecourse last month highlights this. This was part of an impressive double at 59-1, as Cleary also won with the horse Precise, which successfully won in group 3 at its next start.
“Jack Cleary is incredible,” said Chris Armstrong, O'Brien's secretary after the numerous victories.
Cleary has already become a reliable substitute for Moore last month when he rode Extravagant. After Moore finished last on an immature colt, Cleary secured him his first victory at Killarney racecourse, showcasing his ability to win on horses with high odds. He is expected to achieve a few more wins in the coming weeks.
Currently, the situation in O'Brien's team requires quick adaptation. With big competitions on the horizon, Jack Cleary's performance results could significantly impact Ballydoyle's successes. Trainers and fans eagerly await his performances in the upcoming races.Read also
