A moment of mourning on the football field
According to The Sun: A 19-year-old footballer from the Netherlands, Mark Verkuylen, couldn't hold back tears as he paid tribute to his girlfriend who was killed in a car accident while jogging. He honored the memory of his late partner Elisa before the Ajax reserve team's game.
"Elisa, you will always be in my heart,"
Elisa was 21 years old when she was killed by a car while jogging between the towns of Ede and Winne-dal in central Netherlands.
This tragedy reminds us of the importance of road safety, especially for pedestrians and runners. The football community and Mark's friends deeply honor Elisa's memory, supporting him during this difficult time.
