You will need:

  • rice — 250 g;
  • water — 500 ml;
  • salt — 1 tsp;
  • carrot — 1 pc;
  • onion — 1 pc;
  • garlic — 3 cloves;
  • oil — 2 tbsp;
  • butter — 10 g;
  • cabbage — ½ medium head;
  • minced meat — 1 kg (beef, pork, or mixed).

For the sauce:

  • tomato paste — 70 g;
  • flour — 1 tsp;
  • tomato sauce — 300 ml;
  • sour cream — 200 g;
  • water — 150 ml;
  • salt and black pepper — to taste.

Cooking method

Boil the rice until cooked in salted water. Meanwhile, grate the carrot, chop the onion into cubes, and mince the garlic. Heat a frying pan with oil, add the vegetables and sauté until soft, adding butter at the end for flavor.

Finely chop the cabbage and blanch it in boiling water for a few minutes or simply pour boiling water over it to soften. In a large bowl, mix the boiled rice, sautéed vegetables, cabbage, and minced meat. Season with salt and pepper and mix the mass well.
